China quake toll close to 15,000

May 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Nearly 15,000 people died in the devastating earthquake that hit China’s Sichuan province, the official Xinhua news agency has reported. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7400252.stm

My Comment

As I listened to the report on a radio station in Chicago, WBBM AM 780. Somebody said that her parent and people in one of the towns that this tragedy happened noticed that frogs and some animals appear to be migrating to some other places just minutes before the earthquake struck.

Could we track this type of tragedy by observing unusually animal migration?.

Here is a question from me (Why are Black people poor ?)

May 10, 2008 · 1 Comment

I know a lot of us will say that he/she is not poor, I have a Job, I can afford this..blah..blah

This is not about an individual rather about the entire black society.

What I mean by entire black society is Blacks in the United States, Caribbean, Africa e.t.c.

I don’t want us to do finger pointing because it is very easy to blame somebody else or another race. Let us individually examine ourselves.

In the United states we can easily say, the educational system and social services are better funded in one area than others, while this is true. What about Africa and Caribbean where black people are ruling black people, same complain.

So lets limit the discussion to only black.

Below are 2 reasons that I believe are the causes or contributing factors to Black people being poor.

1. Selfishness

2. Fear of adventure or taking risk

With all honesty I cannot claim to be free from these 2 reasons, and sometimes I caught myself struggling with them.

So how can we elevate black society without finger pointing?.
